New data protection legislation came into effect under The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679 on 25thMay 2018. It is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area.

The London Sleep Company is committed to protecting your privacy and data security. We strictly adhere to the requirements of the GDPR in the UK. The purpose of this document is to explain to you how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from https://thelondonsleepcompany.co.uk/ (the Site).

Clear Gifs: We may employ a software technology called “clear gifs” (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), which enables us to improve our services by measuring their effectiveness and performance. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, however are not stored on your device, but instead embedded within our services.

 

Flash and HTML5: We may also employ certain tracking technologies known as “Flash cookies” and “HTML5”, mainly for advertising purposes. Log files: these track actions occurring on the Site. They also collect data including IP address, browser type, internet provider, referring and/or exit pages, and date and time stamps.

 

Web beacons, tags and pixels: these are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.

 

We use information collected about your device to help us check for potential risk and fraud and to improve and optimise our Site (e.g. by producing analytics about how our customers interact with the Site, and to assess the success of any marketing and advertising campaigns we are running).

 

If you make an enquiry, we will need to know certain information in order to respond, e.g. your full name, email address and phone number. When you place an order, we need to know your full name, billing and shipping address, email address, and phone number. This information allows us to respond to your enquiry and process your order.

The London Sleep Company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. 

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by The London Sleep Company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

 

We may retain your personal information for as long as your user account is active, or as otherwise needed to provide you with our services.

 

We may continue to retain such personal information even after you deactivate your user account and/or cease to use any particular services, as reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve disputes regarding our users, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our agreements and/or protect our legitimate interests. 

 

Where your personal information is no longer required we will ensure it is securely deleted. If you believe us to be handing your data incorrectly, then you are within your rights to contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

We therefore encourage you to set strong passwords for your user account , and avoid providing us or anyone with any sensitive information of which you believe its disclosure could cause you substantial or irreparable harm. We do not collect sensitive information about you except when you specifically and knowingly provide it. 

 

Our Site offers publicly accessible blogs. Please be aware that any information you provide in any such areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access them. To request removal of your personal information from our blogs, feel free to contact us at: info@thelondonsleepcompany.com  In some cases, we may not be able to remove your personal information from such areas.
